Mumma, this one broke my brain. All my creative life I’ve struggled with diagonal lines. Making them sit right and not feeling like a Nineties logo. This table was quite the ordeal and it took me back to years gone by when I was a young painter. I spent a lot of time being unsure on this one and going through the love, love, hate cycle to eventually get to the end and love it. Why I put myself and my loved ones through these things I am not sure but when I sat down to eat a meal of it I really enjoyed it and it was completely worth it.
She lives over at Delilah’s Kitchen which is at 40 McCombe Ave in Samson, WA 6163. Just off South Street before you hit Freo. Check it on Facebook. Real good people, amazing food and a table that broke my brain.

Below are some of the early colour considerations. I reckon I milled and chopped about 7 or 8 metres square worth of wood to get down to the final 3m2 picture you see above. Sometimes you’ve just got to keep touching things ’til they are finished.
